They're cute and cuddly, they define our childhoods, and they're popular with collectors.  You guessed it, we're referring to teddy bears, the soft stuffed toys which sat on our beds and stayed with us throughout the night when we are children.  Many people who are well into their adult lives have fond memories of their teddy bear friends and there are plenty of adult collectors and designers who go out of their way to find new or unique bears for their collections.  You'd be amazed at how popular the humble teddy bear has become, appearing in homes all over the world as well as being the star of songs such as 'The Teddy Bears' Picnic'.  Even TV-cartoons like that which is based on the story of 'Winnie the Poo' play on the popularity of teddy bears, selling merchandise that imposes the character of the cartoon on the teddy bear design.
